I was very excited to get Onkyo TX-NR609 Audio-video receiver since we are knowledgeable that ONKYO is a great brand. We really bought ONKYO Texas-NR609 7.2 Funnel Network THX Licensed A/V Receiver to exchange a 20-plus old unit. I figured it might be very simple to create this up since I have read the majority of the reviews here (well, some and 5-star ones) before really ordering the system. I have connected the television, PS3 and laptop (via HMDI cable) and the other new ONKYO receiver (for Zone 2). After a few days of learning from mistakes (following a manual, believe it or not), I simply unwillingly totally reset the system towards the default setting (by holding BD/DVD and standby button concurrently). Lo and behold, everything labored like how it ought to be.
Quite honestly, after wasting a few days about this unit, I spent an entire day reading through All of the reviews here as well as in other sites because I acquired so frustrated. While configuring it, I believed, why the heck did ONKYO made something this complicated? I am very grateful for anyone who cared enough to examine the product because the manual isn’t that useful. Ultimately though, it had been rebuilding to default configurations that solved all of the audio/video connection problems. I ought to did that on day 1. I simply needed to adjust the speaker configurations later on. Hope this review helps in some manner..
